Two way baby dress

For this two-way dress, I used fabric that was in my possession. I liked the way it turned out and I think the reason is a beautiful fabric. I hope you like it too and you can make one for his little girl.

Materials:

• Fabric 1 (Lilac sparrows in the cage)
• Fabric 2 (Lilac lattice in the cell)

For decoration (optional)

• Hot melt tape
• Scraps of fabric in contrasting colors

Sewing:

Preparing the bodice:

1. Cut four pieces of the bodice of main fabric.

2. Cut four strips of fabric 1.25 inches x 9 inches. Sew these strips.

3. Insert the strips into the sandwich parts of the bodice at 5 cm from each other. Sew along the top curve and make the cut for the best shape of the bodice.

4. To connect the front and back of the bodice and sew the sides.

5. Happened. The bodice is ready, let's sew a skirt now.

Sewing the skirt:

6. For the outer skirt cut 2 pieces of fabrics 8 inches by 18 inches. Sew along the short sides, right sides together. Also keep in mind that this pattern is directional, that is, if you put the fabric upside down on the figure the bird will be upside down.

7. Sew a seam along the top side of the pattern. Now pull the thread to gather the skirt. Collect it as long as the width of the skirt will be equal to the width of the bodice.

8. Now cut 2 pieces of fabric 9 inches by 18 inches. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to sew, gather and prepare the inner skirt. Set aside.

Training tape for hem:

9. Cut 2 strips 5 inches x 18 inches. Sew them together along the long side.

10. Ribbon stitch with a small offset.

11. Sew the strip seam along the bias.

The connection of the skirt and the bodice:

12. Sew the main fabric of the bodice to a skirt. Make sure that the side seams of the bodice and skirt match.

13. Deploy internal and external fabric of the bodice.

14. Sew a different fabric skirt.

15. Here's how the dress will look from the outside. Now fold the hem of inner skirt a quarter inch inside and sew along the hem.

16. Now fold it one more time so that the length of the inner and outer fabric will be equal.

17. Two-way baby dress.

Optional decoration dresses:

Since the dress is two-way, we have to be very careful in embellishing because jewelry will be in contact with baby's skin, when the dress on the other side. To make it convenient and safe for the baby, I chose only suitable for dress decoration.

This fabric is so beautiful that I didn't want to divert attention from her, so I decided to just use a tissue print decoration.

For appliques I picked two small scraps (2 inches x 3 inches) in the colors of the picture. Now cut two small pieces of fusible tape (slightly smaller than the fabric pieces) and place them on the wrong sides of the pieces. Slice polygons. Iron, attach the pieces of the appliques to the dress.

Using the iron, attach the applique on the other side.

I think they look better when they are placed on the bodice. Termolenta really keeps the applique on the fabric. For extra strength I usually also sew the sides of an application. If you want to do this, unplug both sides and sew along the edge of the applique with the sewing machine at a slow speed and stitch length set at the minimum. To ensure accurate seam along the edges of an application.

And here's a dress for the cutest little girl in the world ready.
