National Spanish costume

Maybe to some this may seem strange, but today it's pretty difficult to find comprehensive information about the Spanish national costume. Traditional clothing in Spain has a huge variety of different modifications. In addition, it also depends on the region. We decided to consider the national Spanish costumes for example Andalusia. Men from the region wearing white shirts, plain long pants, complemented by bright gaiters, jackets and vests of different cuts, and fabric belts.

The Spaniards jackets traditionally have to be short with tapered sleeves. They are somewhat similar to the outfit the bullfighters, but without the decorative "shoulders" and too rich finishes. To distinguish the suit of a simple water-carrier from a noble Caballero could only the quality of the material its finish and degree of distress. Usually in Spain, ordinary people are no trimmed their jackets, unlike the elite, who could easily afford gold and silver braid or embroidery. However, even they decorated their outfits within the limits of decency, as casual clothes have always been casual and no one wanted to turn it into a costume for the carnival. All the Spaniards dressed quite brightly with the exception of conservatives, who favored black suits.

As for belts, they were mainly made of red. The width of the belt was about thirty centimeters. This zone is often used as a purse, as in the folds of tightly drawn material could easily be hidden coins. Outerwear the Spaniards served as blankets, cloaks or capes.

Women's costume in contrast to traditional men's clothing were more vivid and expressive. The overall silhouette is similar to the European costume, that is waist skinny with corset and skirt, and quite wide. The hands of the Spaniards could be closed to wrist or fully open. Often the Spanish women wore dresses reminiscent of the tunics of the very bright and colorful fabrics. Quite Traditionally, girls sewed their skirts, consisting of several layers (ruffles), sewn to each other.Usually the number of layers of the skirt did not exceed four and each was shorter than the previous one.
