As a rule, very indifferent when it comes to my sewing for her. I often have to sweeten it to get to try what I just finished: a new dress or pair of trousers. One day I was looking through the forums for sewing and saw a Jersey dress with a big cake on his chest. My daughter was delighted and wouldn't let me shut down the computer until I do like her. I had no choice but to start sewing a similar dress, though I did not know the methods used to make this dress.I sent an e-mail to the woman who made this dress, to clarify some points, but my daughter is not ready to wait. So I just made a dress as I can. I have received a response from my mother, who made this dress originally and now I know how to do it. I added her technique in the form of a note in the relevant steps below you could discover. Here's how to sew dress puff cake:
Materials:
• Various knit fabric.
Difficulty:
• Average
Time:
• 2 - 3 hours
Sewing:
1. Put a folded turtleneck on folded fabric.
2. Draw a line along the silhouette of a turtleneck. Is the pattern of the dress.
3. Add 1 cm seam along the silhouette that you just made. Cutting both layers.
4. Cut a deeper neckline on one of the layers.
5.Place both layers one over the other (right sides together). Sew along the shoulders and sides. Waves make a small hem at the bottom.
Note: paragraphs 5 - 7 are the steps I used to create this dress. But steps 8 - 10 is better and faster.
6. Now cut lots of strips of fabric with different colors. The width of the strips varies from 2.5 cm to 10 cm Also, it is better if the length of these strips will increase with each tier. A good rule of thumb is to add a quarter to the length of the previous level, to obtain the length of the next layer (layer). Sew the strips along the lower sides together to form a circular band. Now to make waves along one edge, as shown above.
7. Now sew the strip to the previous row. Because the lower tier is longer than the upper you will need to stretch the top tier when you are sewing. One way to do this is to use pins. Thus, You can be sure that you have stretched the upper tier evenly around the hem.
This is how I joined the tiers in this dress. However, when I asked another forum member how she does it, she showed me a different path. And I found that her technique is much better than mine, because then You don't see the joints. So, make a little detour and look at another way to connect tiers.
8. Cut two layers to be attached. The lower tier is about 1.5 times longer than the upper tiers.
9. Fold the tiers together. One inside the other.
10. Expand the top tier to fit the length of the lower tier and sew.
11. The sleeves are made of two layers of fabric. Inner cloth should be slightly. Sew the sleeves.
12. For neck measure the neck. Let's call this length O Cut 2/3 length and 5 cm wide strip. (In fact, after sewing many shirts and tops this way, I realized that the 7.5 cm is the optimal width for a collar. But I did 5 cm in this dress.)
13. Now fold this strip in half along the width so that the seam is hidden in the crease. Pin to neckline.
14. Sew the neckline with a zigzag stitch, so it will have some stretch.
15. Happened. Here's how it will look.
Dress, layer cake is ready!
