I made this cute headband for my daughter for Valentine's Day. Here's what you need to do it for your kid.

Materials:

1. 0.6 cm wide red elastic band - 32 cm
2. Bright pink felt - 7.5 cm square (cut in the shape of a heart)
3. White felt 10cm square (cut in the shape of a heart more than pink)
4. Small white button 1
5. Threads - red and white

Sew the ends of elastic together, overlapping by 1 cm Complete the seam by sewing a few times. I used a very tiny and narrow zigzag for extra strength. Don't worry if it looks shabby in this place, it will be hidden later.
