I remember some time ago I made this peasant dress and promised you a lesson in sewing trousers for this dress. It took me some time, and a lesson on how to sew harem pants here:
Materials:
• Half meter of main fabric
• 15 cm coordinating fabric
• 1 m rubber belt, 1.5 - 3 cm wide
Time:
• 1.5 hours
of Sewing allowances:
• 1 cm, unless otherwise noted
Difficulty:
• Rookie
Pattern:
• Download the free PDF pattern for trousers (Size at 2 years old). Print it on 8.5X11 inch paper (A4 size) with margins equal to zero.
Cut out patterns and sew the inner seams on both legs.
To turn one leg inside out and insert inside the other leg. Align the crotch area on both legs and sew the seam.
Evert.
Cut a strip width of 6 cm x twice the circumference of each leg opening. Sew the ends together smaller.
Double fold along the raw edge and hem.
Set the machine on high speed, stitch length and high tension and sew a seam along the other raw edge, leave a long tail of thread after sewing. This will ruffle the fabric. Now spread the ruffles evenly by hand so that the corrugated strip becomes equal to the legs of the trousers. To sew the opposite edge from Ruche to the harem pants. Repeat for the other leg.
I don't have pictures of finishing the waist, but its pretty easy to do. Fold the top of the trousers of 0.6 cm inside, iron and sew the seam. Now fold it again at 4 cm inside, iron and sew, but leave a hole. Now use the safety pin to insert a wide elastic band through the hole. The basic rule that I use for gum, it's length must be less than 6 - 7 cm than the waist of the child. After you sew the ends of elastic and sew up the hole.
Look! Cute little bloomers.
