Homemade toys

Toys bring great joy to children. They are a source of different experiences and necessary for the normal development and education of children.
For infants recommended rubber toys or toys made of plastic that can be easily washed, and for children older than 1 year is already interesting dolls, figures of animals, birds, etc.
Any mother can sew.
Homemade toys are usually made of fabric. These toys should be pleasant in form and attractive in color. So you need to be careful when choosing fabrics and styles toys. Toys can be made also from the remnants of fur, felt, leather, cloth, cotton batting. Depending on the material of their perform open or closed seam, frequent or infrequent stitching. Eyes of various animals or birds can be made from small colored beads or colored thread. Inside toys stuffed with cotton, wool, batting or small pieces of fabric.

Duck
 


For cutting such toys (Fig. 168) you need to use the pattern shown in Fig. 169. The material can be cloth or thick wool fabric. First of all need to carve out two body parts of the duck, leaving a seam allowance of 0.5 cm, the Wings cut out the two parts without a seam. Then cut out the nose and the bottom of the toy.
The details of the body sew a seam across the edge with the front side at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge. Then connect the housing with the bottom, leaving a hole through which to stuff the toy with cotton or wool and then make eyes. Then sew the wings and nose.

Dog
 


For cutting this toy (Fig. 170) given the pattern in Fig. 171.
Case dogs cut out from black or white fur, folded in half. Then cut out the ears and belly of the dog. Other details cut out also from a piece of fur, folded in half.
Tailoring dog the same as a duck, only the joints do hidden stitches.

Chick, Bunny and horse
