Materials:
• Main fabric - 75 cm
• Coordinating fabric - 14 cm
• Wide elastic band
Approximate time:
• 2 hour
Pattern for 12 months:
• Here is a 4 page PDF pattern for leggins size 12 months. Print without scaling for 8.5x11 inch paper. There is no allowance. You will need to tape pages 1 and 2 together to get front of the pants. Tape pages 3 and 4 together to get back. Cut 2 pieces from each.
• Also keep in mind that these leggings are not suitable for crawling babies, as all the creases that will stand in their way, they will hurt.
Allowances:
• 1 cm, unless otherwise specified
Tailoring:
Cut two pieces of each of the front and rear.
Sew the outer seams on both legs.
Sew seam on both legs.
Turn one pant leg inside out. Slip to get one pant leg inside the other.
Sew along the crotch. Because leggings are made of knit I didn't bother with the buttonhole stitches. You could neaten them if you want.
Turn leggings right side out.
For ruffles, cut strips with a width of 9 cm to get the length I need to measure the width of each leg and multiply by two, this will be the length of each bar.
To make double ruffles, I cut two strips with a width of 9 cm and two strips with a width of 14 cm Stitch the short ends together (right sides together), each strip to make wide pants.
Insert one ring into another. Align one edge of both layers.
To make ruffles, I use the following method. To set the speed of the machine on the highest, stitch length to the longest and to increase the voltage (I set it on 7.0 instead of the normal 5.2). Now sew along the edge where both layers are combined. You will see that the fabric gathers along this seam. Once you are done sewing the seam, pull the thread by hand and make the width equal to the cuff ruffles on the pant leg. If they are equal, sew them on your mittens. Leave the raw edges out, because knit does not fray.I tried to sew ruffles on pants to hide the raw edges, but I feel it adds too much bulk to the seam. But you could try and see if you like.
Repeat the same steps for the other foot. I left the ruffles raw because knit does not fray. But if you like the look of fluted edges, you can make sure to finish the edges.
To finish the belt. Cut a piece of wide elastic, approximately 7 inches shorter than the waist circumference. Sew the ends together.
Now using a zigzag stitch to sew it to the top of the pants (from the inside). We stretch the rubber band slightly during sewing, to sew the elastic evenly.
Turn the fabric inward on itself and sew another zigzag stitch. Stretch it again while you are sewing.
Leggings made, but since you can never have too much beauty, I decided to decorate them with flowers made of fabric.
Here is a mini tutorial about how to sew flowers from fabric.
Hands sew a tiny bow at the front waist.
Your super-duper leggings made.
