I would really like to thank a friend for giving me the opportunity to post on your blog. I am a fan of her work and she is really inspiring.
I decided to peekaboo - this pleated skirt because I think pleats are a true classic for the style back to school. I found this alphabet fabric at a local fabric store and fell in love with her. What could be better than cute skirts for my sweet baby. I think it will look great in the fall with a cute yellow or white top or winter with a cute pair of tights and a cardigan.
The box-pleated skirt wrapped around and on top of the fabric with Flex. Large side button. It has an elastic waistband which makes it easy for little girls process on or off independently.

Sewing:
For the main fabric, measure the waist of your child and multiply by 3. Waist my daughter is 50 cm so I cut the main fabric with a length of 1.5 m. to get the width, measure from waist to just over his knees. My piece of the main fabric was 1.5 m x 25 cm.
For the top of the fabric, measure the waist of your child and multiply by 2. To get the length, cut 5 cm shorter than main fabric. My measurements for the upper fabric was 1 m x 20 cm
For the elastic, take waist size plus 2,5 cm My 52.5 cm
to make the upper part of the skirt:
Fold top fabric in half. To put a mark on the bottom where the fold is. Put a mark at 7.5 cm from the top of the other end. Join the two marks making the curve. Work the edge.
To make the main part of the skirt:
Hem the bottom of the fabric hem by folding the 0.6 cm and then another 0.6 cm, Place your fabric on the Ironing Board and make box pleats. This is done by folding the fabric and then another (hard to explain). That is the lesson . The shape of the folds will be good to keep the starch.
To make box pleats across the fabric.
Once all folds are made, stitch basting stitch about 2.5 cm from the top edge, which will hold the folds in place.
Join two pieces of fabric together:
Take your top fabric wrong side down and place it on top of the main fabric face up. To sew the two together at the top.
To fold the fabric and stitch the edges.
Fold the top fabric, making a cavity under the gum. Sew and insert the elastic.
Sew a button on.
I'm sure everyone will look at your little girl, as a model dressed this creation to school!
