Making of linen and clothing

Embroidery - an inexhaustible source of inspiration when creating modern pieces of clothing. In summer, women's or children's dresses of cotton, linen, silk fabrics, smooth tones use white or colored embroidery of different nature: the platform, "Richelieu", white surface, etc color combinations must be considered rhythmic alternation of colors highlighting the main leading tone, which gives the embroidery a wholeness and completeness (figure. 2, 7, 8, 10, 63, 64 in the color inset).
Dressed in women's clothing from woolen, silk or velvet, make the solid pattern, use muted shades. Detail of the product where it is supposed to do embroidery, cut allowances on all sides for 3 - 4 see If the part is very small, then leave so much fabric that you can pin to the Hoop. Equipment embroiderers is very simple. Facilitate-work embroidery. If the image is larger than the size of the Hoop, embroider the first part and then move the fabric until the entire pattern is finished. If the fabric for embroidery is small and it is not captured by Hoop, to it on four sides sew any utility cloth. A needle for embroidery usually take short and with a large eyelet to thread less grind. Scissors must have sharp tips. When embroidering never make knots. Thread fixed several small stitches at the place which later closes embroidery.Another method for the fixing threads consists of the following: the thread is folded in half, folded together the ends of threaded in the needle eye and do the first stitch, without pulling threads from the fabric to the end, is passed in a loop the working thread and tighten it, sticking the needle into the fabric. The point of fixing the thread is almost invisible. At the end of the string to skip under the embroidery and carefully cut.
The stitches are different depending on their purpose.

The seam "forward a needle" (Fig. 160 a) is used when basting, when contouring of a pattern. A needle thread introduced into the fabric through two or four threads, all the time. Sewing "needle forward" you picking up just the needle a few stitches, then dragging thread.
The seam "stitching" (Fig. 160 6) designed for a tight connection of the fabric or as a basis for embroidery small cross stitches (Fig. 160 g).
Stalk stitch(Fig. 160) received their name because they usually embroider the stems of the flowers. Stalked stitch used in embroidering the transition from the thin part of the stem to the thickened. Sew it back with a needle. That is, each stitch do a ago. Face stitches going in one direction going one after the other to the right or left depending on the purpose of the seam.
Seam "chain" (Fig. 160 d) is a series of loops coming from one another. This seam is also called "tambour". Sew. Needle and thread put on the front side. Putting a thread with a loop and hold it with the thumb of the left hand needle from the face inside out in previous puncture and sent the seamy side down. Chain stitch can be done with a hook, the thread is fed from the bottom.
A variation of the chain stitch is the seam where the holes in the hinges are not made from one to another, and near or at a distance (Fig. 160 e).
For finishing used and "twisted" chain stitch (Fig. 160 g). Here, the second puncture is done in a loop to the left, blocking the thread.

Translation of pattern on the fabric

There are several ways to transfer the pattern on the fabric.
1. Through carbon paper - the fastest and easiest way. Using transfer paper (fabric bottom, top figure) a finely sharpened pencil lead round lines of the drawing.
2. "Pounce". The first pattern is transferred to the tracing paper, and then the needle pierce the tracing of the contour. The tracing of the flat circuit pattern is placed on embroider material and secured with pins. Take a piece of cotton wool soaked in a solution of kerosene with blue dye, carbon black or whiting. Heavily drained, to avoid smudges, wipe the line with holes along the contour.
3. Transfer drawing on thin transparent fabric. Under glass place a lamp, glass drawing, drawing - cloth. Drawing contours encircle with a pencil.
4. For cloth, velvet and shiny silk cloth with a pattern transferred using a fine paper inscribed with the figure of embroidery. Paper pattern primetyvajut to the fabric and basting stitch the whole pattern, then carefully cut paper, fabric remains, contour pattern from threads.
5. If the figure is translated from the finished product, at embroidery it is necessary to impose the white paper on it - the carbon paper and RUB it on white paper will leave a mark pattern, which encircle a pencil.
