The basics suit composition

Symmetry

  Symmetry - full compliance by location, size of one half of the whole other half. Symmetry characterizes the calm balance of the whole. The relationship of parts by symmetric arrangement is formed because of the equilibrium that occurs. The symmetry axes of the human figure and therefore clothing is the middle of the front and back vertically. The axis of symmetry in this case is also an axis of equilibrium. Basically, almost all types of clothing are decided on the basis of symmetry.

In cases when the clothes are not completely symmetrical, a particularly important condition for unity is the balance is asymmetrical with respect to the axis of the balance. In Fig. 72 shows how preparation of balance pieces of clothing when it is asymmetric solution.

Rhythm

  Rhythm is a regular alternation of commensurate and tangible sensual form elements.

The rhythm in the composition of the costume is one of the means of communication in a single unit all parts of the forms that make up the suit. The power of the connection of rhythm more important than all other relationships and can spread not only on clothes but also on its complement taken in a set or in an ensemble with her.

A characteristic feature of rhythm is the repetition of elements of the form and the intervals between them, grouped according to similar characteristics or identities of nuance in certain distinct patterns.
Signs of rhythm can be observed in any organized form in nature inorganic and organic (plant world, crystals, minerals, etc.).

The simplest pattern, which underlies the repetition of forms and intervals, is the equality of forms and intervals, i.e. the repetition of identical forms at equal intervals. Such an arrangement of forms or form elements is called a metric order.

Consistent natural change, ascending or descending forms or intervals characterized by a rhythmic arrangement of forms. In either case, we are dealing with the replications of the forms and intervals.

  Metric rules can be presented in three schemes of preparation of the form elements and spacing between them. The basic scheme metric orders of magnitude shown in Fig. 73, is the repetition of forms equal intervals (Fig. 73, a) and the repetition of equal forms, where interval is the boundary of the partitioning shape (Fig. 73, b). In Fig. 73, shows a diagram of the so-called radial rhythm is metric fine.

  Rhythmic rules can be presented under four major schemes. In Fig. 74 shows the basic scheme of the rhythmic orders:

  • the first scheme is a sequence of equal elements while changing the intervals between them;
  • the second scheme - form elements increase or decrease, and the interval does not change;
  • the third scheme is the increase or decrease and the elements of the form and the intervals between them;
  • the fourth scheme - form elements and intervals of increase or decrease in their radial location.

These two basics of rhythm can be solved an infinite number of different orders of magnitude.
It should be noted that the use of the metric procedure should be carried moderately, it leads to monotony, monotony.

Rhythm in addition to its properties merge section of the form has a property to create visual dynamics (movement), as this creates the shape of different importance and activity.

The rhythmic constructs of the form elements can be achieved using different solutions of the symmetry of the human figure. The rhythmic repetition of form elements based on symmetry can be solved using the lines of the silhouette, clothing items, decorative finishes, their textures, colors etc.

In Fig. 75 this several diagrams rhythm patterns fur trim on the basis of symmetry.

Rhythmic building can be expressed all the properties of the primary elements of the uniform and its supplements. For example, in Fig. 76 shows the dress with a Cape, where the connection of the bodice and a Cape with a skirt based on the rhythmic repetition of forms with the change of their values from largest to smallest.

In Fig. 77 dress and headpiece solved by folk motives. Draws the attention of the radial solution of the assemblies on the bodice and hem the sleeves. The relationship of dress and headgear is based on the repetition of finish - embroidery. This also contributes to the homogeneity of the material of the dress and headpiece. In Fig. 78 shows a simple form of dress consisting of a bodice and skirt. The connection of the bodice and skirt is based on rhythmic repetition based on the detail lines the neckline, armholes, sides of bodice and skirt. The relationship of the parts of this dress is also based on the homogeneity of the material.

In Fig. 79 shows a suit consisting of a jacket and skirt. The connection piece suit - skirt. sleeves, collar, front of jacket is based on detailed and identical replications of the acute angles of the finish and its color.

In Fig. 80 shows a coat, all of which are linked by repeated lines form its main parts: the front, capes, collar.

In Fig. 81 depicts a winter coat, trimmed with fur, with fur cap. The headdress is associated with the identity of the coat color and texture of the fur, and the main parts are linked by repetition fur trim on the collar, sleeves, hem of the coat.

In Fig. 82 shows a dress where the connection of the bodice and skirt based on the frequency trim, and ruched skirt hem and neck. The connection is reinforced with a characteristic recurrence intervals of finish on the skirt and neckline of the bodice.

In Fig. 83 depicts a sophisticated draped dress. The connection of the bodice to the skirt is based on the repetition and nuanced drapery piece dresses, and the characteristic cross-shaped intersections of the drapery on the bodice and skirt.

The nature of the construction of rhythm in a suit may cause a varying degree of dynamics forms, can be slow, gradual, fast, abrupt, can remain in the same organized form closed and to go beyond it to other organized forms, in General, the components of the costume.

This property of rhythm is the main link in the suit composition, a variety of clothing and add-ons (hats, shoes, gloves, bags, etc.).
